just entertaining the idea of applying to be a sub. I called the office today and they said they are just processing applications for 2010 and it could be a year before they would review an application sent in now! wow...that's a long time. Well, guess I'll need to scratch that off my list as I was looking for something in the immediate future.

Your thoughts?

Yes, I applied and it is has been 8 months, and they are not near my application yet (or so I have been told).

There are currently some thing like 3500 subs on the list in Wake County!

That's crazy to me! As one who taught for 10 years, and had to scramble to get sub coverage (and then still had to have other teachers cover classes during their prep periods), I would think that they'd want as many as possible, but what do I know, I guess?!?!
