We were just there 2 weeks ago for breakfast on a Sunday. I hope they aren't closed. Hmm...I might have to drive over there to look.

We went to Fonda Y Birrieria Jalisco in Raleigh recently and it was fantastic. We thought it was authentic.

If I find out anything about PV's, I'll post.

The last time we tried going there was last tues and there was a cardboard sign in the window saing they were closed temporarily...but it looks as though they went out of bizness

We LOVE Cantina 18 in Cameron Village...actually the best tex-mex we've had here, and we've been to PV, Tacos Mexico, etc.

What happened to Pancho Villa's?

The Federales tracked him down outside of Cuidad Juarez.

There is a really good Mexican Restaurante in Mebane, another one "La Fiesta Grille" outside of Chapel Hill.

While this isn't a "restaurant" per se, it's fast food, there is an authentic taco place on New Bern Ave (outbound) near the beltline called "Taco Maker", it's owned by a Hispanic family. I haven't been there, not into tacos, etc., but folks around here say it's very good. I read an article about them in the N&O, sounds like they are struggling with being new, this economy, their first time owning a place.

Sorry your fav place closed down

Thanks for the referral RL...it kinda sucks...it was worth the 60 mile round trip. But if that Fonda y Bierriea place is any good then all is not lost and its 20 miles closer(round trip). I'm going for a job interview at the Eastern NC School f/t Deaf...If i get it I'll be celebrating at the Mexican Rest.! Fingers crossed but not holding my breath....
