Has anyone ever done this? Is it actually scary? I was looking for new things to do with my boyfriend (we're in our late 20's). The bar scene is getting a little old.

Wow. I think this sounds cool. I'd never heard of it either and we are all the time looking for stuff like this. We're definitely going to try it soon and then I'll offer my two cents about it.

Haven't been on this one, but have taken a similar "ghost walk" in Williamsburg. Scary or not depends on how much you believe in ghosts. Since all the ghost legends are so similar, I find it kind of hokey. Our guide in Williamsburg was entertaining so I thought it was worth the money.

I have been on ghost tours in Charleston SC, and New Orleans. I had fun! Interesting stories. I like the ones where the guide DOESNT dress up in a costume. Thanks for the heads up with the Raleigh tour. I will have to check it out.

Never been on the tour here, but used to host one down in South Carolina before moving up here. I think most of the participants find them fun and humorous with just an edge of Halloween-type scary.

As the guide, however, I kept having creepy experiences. Like the time I lead the group into an 18th century graveyard and started the spiel about the place. As I was standing and talking beside an above ground grave, I felt a familiar brush against my leg, the kind of feeling you get when I cat rubs against you. At first I thought something like "hey kitty" but then realized there was NO CAT in the graveyard. Talk about the hair standing up on the back of your neck! It took all I could do not to run out of there screaming like Daffy Duck.

I didn't let on to the participants, but let me tell you I haven't thought of that graveyard quite the same since.

Just might have to check this tour out come autumn (best time of year for ghosty stuff!).
