We had the opportunity to take our out-of-state guest kayaking with this company and we were really pleased. They transport you to their launch site off of Falls of Neuse along the Falls of Neuse River (where their biz was located) and depending on the type of trip they pick you up and take you back to their place of biz off of Capital in Wake Forest.

For a 1.5 hour trip is was $48 plus a $3 charge (think for tip). They also have 3 hour; moonlight and winetasting trips.

Check it out!

And.... in the spring, look closely at the right side of the river whenever you see a creek entering.
Back in the trees there is a heron rookery... usually 7 -10 nests up in the trees!

We went on a Paddle Creek trip at one point too! They had a deal on Groupon or Living Social. I thought it was very fun and a nice workout. I want to check out the speciality trips too -- moonlight or winetasting sounds fun! Yay.

There was a Mom with 2 kids in a canoe and they were having lotsa fun althought Mom was doing most the paddlin'.

I thought it would be fun to bring the wine and goodies in the kayak (which you can do on the three hour trip and make a stop and indulge) but you do a 'paddle' and then they pick you up and take you to a place off of Durant road that does tastings...very fun! These trips are self-directed and they just ask that you watch out for one another...very casual...I'll be back for sure.

okay, inquiring minds wanted to know (okay, only one) if I did end up taking my guest to see Mr. Cow on New Light and yes I did!!! He was still in his St. Paddy's outfit but looks like he's made the switch to accomodate us! Stay tuned for pictures!

A group of us (5 couples) just purchased this for 1/2 price ($24/pp) through Groupon. We've scheduled our Kayaking for early June!

Whatever you do, do not do the 3 hour trip with a canoe. After about the two hour mark it was like torture. It did not help that the river basically had no current. The first two hours were really fun though. Our friends in the 2 person Kayak definitely had an easier time rowing. If I were to do it again I would definitely get the Kayak!

And be sure to take drinks, sunscreen, and a towel in a big plastic bag.
