Juanvald, PARTS of sunset ridge got hit pretty hard and I'm sure there's no power. I don't know specific streets, and didn't see any homes completely destroyed but there were definitely homes with damage (windows out, siding and shingles off, trees down) Sorry I can't give you more specifics or give you a better update. hope you're able to find out something about your house soon.

The tornado touched down very close to that area. I was able to proceed south on Sunset Lake Rd but was diverted at Optimist Farm due to police activity ahead. I could see the road ahead was blocked due to downed trees.

We're in between Fuquay & Holly Springs. (off Old Powell) Hubby's a trained spotter. We had our little bathroom ready in case we needed to take shelter. I had an ativan and gave the cat some fresh catnip, so we were good to go. We saw the huge wall cloud go by. As it turns out, that was it. My daughter and her boyfriend took shelter with my mother in Garner. We're all accounted for. We were fortunate. No damage, just a brief (2 hours?) power outage.

Saw some pictures of the shopping plaza on the corner of Sunset Lake and Holly Springs Rd. in HS... Wachovia looks to be partially destroyed.

Well this definitely does not sound like good news for us. Just thankful my wife, son and pets are all with me here in N. Virginia and that we were not there to witness this.

We were at a church function and dropped someone off in a neighborhood near Buffaloe Rd, (Stony-brook?) and 540 and there was incredible damage. One house was completely gone and pieces were everywhere. Another house was sheared in half. Most had major damage and trees uprooted. Some houses had branches in them or trees on them.

Edit: I've looked and it was in the Cardinal Grove neighborhood. The pics are up on WRAL.
