What exactly does a town imposed curfew mean? Dumb question, I know, but hear me out.

If a town has a curfew from 10pm - 6am, what happens if you don't get off work until after 10? Can they ticket you for being on the roads? Arrest you?

We've never experienced one, so I don't know.

If you have proof of your employment should be no problem. Its likely to avoid looting and accidents.

It's possible you may be stopped and questioned by authorities, but if you have a legitimate reason for being out there's no reason for them to hassle you. Unless you're in an area where looting is likely or acting suspicious, I wouldn't expect many problems.

Not sure if Raleigh has a curfew right now. The heavier damaged areas are sectioned off and have cops stationed at them, so those are probably the only places being watched.

Thanks y'all. I was worried about my son coming home from work, but as it turns out, he was doing a good thing. Many of the neighborhoods didn't have power, so lots of people had come to his restaurant to eat.
