I have been plagued by acne the last few months. Spoke to a dermatologist, she recommended using this small tube of something - copay was $50. I said no.
Do you go to any aesthetician/spa/products you use in Cary/Raleigh that has worked? I know spas here all recommend acne targeted facials/treatments but I would love to get referrrals/recommendations from you all before trying any.
I used to go to a dermatologist and tried all sorts of different things and nothing really seemed to work...until my friend had a Beauticontrol spa party and I tried their products specifically for acne prone skin and let me tell you, the products are amazing and have changed my life! PM me if you want more info.
I have had on and off acne for a few years. I used to use couple of products the first time I had and those worked. When acne re-emerged I tried the wake dermatology here and it was sort of in control. I also tried Cary dermatology but I didn't like it there. I have just gone back on the first two medicines.
Acne is a hard problem to get rid off and seems incurable. I would still recommend trying couple of different products to see what works for you - clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide ointments, Retin-A type products for the scars and antibiotics if its bad. These are just things I have used and sort of found them to keep acne in check. I am sure the doctor would also initially have to try a couple of different things. Skin products are usually expensive. I have paid 200+ for one cream when I didn't even have copay.
I have also found spa facials even if targetted for acne to worsen it.
