I'm aware of a few threads on this forum asking about lawn care recommendations, but most of the outfits that get recommended are the big chains (which, to my knowledge, typically have contractual setups). Are there any mom and pop lawn care operations that anyone could recommend?

Specifically, I'm looking for someone to help me aerate, seed, and fertilize my lawn, in addition to helping me control weeds. I live near the Brier Creek area, so any recommendations from that part of the Triangle would be helpful. My lawn needs some help, and I'd prefer a solid, local company to do the work (and someone who won't make me a hard sell, as I've heard Scott's will do).

Thanks in advance!

I just fired Fairway Greens. They are arrogant and unprofessional. I am looking for a new company and have a few estimates coming up. I will post if I find a reliable company.

I'm a big stickler on who I hire for my lawncare, and for the last two years my husband & I have been using Eastern Turf Maintenance and have been very happy. Unbeknownst to them I work from home so can oversee what they're doing and they have always done a very thorough job. Our yard looks great. We do our own mowing but leave it to them do to the fertilizing.
