Others have mentioned it will be bad from the first two areas, but specifically, think an hour without traffic, probably 1.5 hours if you're trying it at rush hour. That's each way.
Cary will cut down on the time a bit, but I still wouldn't do it.
If you find that Chapel Hill or Carboro won't work for you, other ideas of locations to check out would be Hillsboro, southern Durham or maybe even Pittsboro. I'm not that familiar with that side of the Triangle so hopefully others will correct me if I'm wrong, but any further out than that and you're looking at a long commute.
