I have a Masters of Science majoring in Nutritional Science. We are currently living in New Zealand and hope to imimgrate to USA in a few months. We are looking at moving to NC. What are the job prospects like in the RTP. Can anyone tell me about the latest update about Kannapolis. Where could I apply for jobs in the Kannapolis and RTP? What are the reputable recruitment agencies.

Hi, I have a Master's in Nutrition too. Are you looking for a job in nutrition? If so, what area? I might be able to point you in the right direction.

Hi, it's great to get a reply. I am interested in research especially in bone health. However, I am willing to look at any option related to nutrition as it would be good to get a job before I get there. What options are there for people with nutrition degrees? If you could give me some directions that would be good.

Honestly there aren't a whole lot unless you're into clinical nutrition, food science or food service management. There are LOTS of clinical hospitals around here (the triangle) and lots of public health positions available. Not the best of nutrition jobs, but a good place to start if you need a job quick.

Both Duke and UNC-CH have some excellent nutrition research going on, you might want to look there. I would recommend looking into UNC-CH if you're into bone health as a public health concern/public policy. UNC-CH has an excellent and world reknown public health and nutrition program.
Other than that, I frequent a website called Dietitian Central: nutrition jobs, CPEU, CEU, CPE, dietitian jobs, RD, DTR, continuing education, nutrition experts, nutrition advice, nutrition, nutrition forums, registered dietitian jobs, dietitian, salary surveys, dietitian salary surveys, nutrit and browse by state. I think Kannapolis has a hospital there or close by that hires occassionally and I think there are a probably a few state instutional jobs out that way like Cherry Hospital. I know it sounds horrid working in a state mental instutition, but honestly, that was one of the most educational and fullfilling jobs I ever had.
Good luck and let me know if you need any other contacts in the area.

Is the Kannapolis research centre up and running? I read that it is going to focus on nutrition research.
Where would be a good place to settle in NC? I have 2 daughters who are ready to go to university and hope to study accountancy.
