Hello -- Me again!

What can you tell me about Medfield Estates?

"Nice" neighborhood?

Is it going to be incorporated into Cary, and is that a bad thing if it is?

Are resale values good?

Good schools?

Thanks!

I am also interested in knowing more about Medfield. My wife and i are currently selling our home and are looking in this neighborhood.

What i know from my research is that it is a well established area with older homes that seem to have long term residents. From the few we have met who have been there a long time, 17 years etc.

Decent pool area you can join and close to the highway, Cary and Raleigh. Pretty good compromise on price for sq ft and low taxes.

I see it is tied to Reedy Creek Schools which seem lower on the Wake County Test scores page but not sure if that truly reflects how good or bad a school is. So anyone with insight into Reedy Creek Elementary would be great or what magnet school is for that area.

I think it's lovely back there. It's older, decently sized homes, large wooded lots, fairly quiet. Lots of older folks but I think it's finally starting to turnover a bit. It's a great location, close to Cary, close to I 40, 15 minutes to downtown Raleigh, 10 minutes to NSCU area, 10 minutes to Crabtree mall.
There are pros and cons to Annexation. I know there is an organized group resisting annexation, bu t there are others who live there who want it for Cary services (which I think are worth the extra money after having lived most of my life in Raleigh and in Cary). The pool is nice too.

I actually hear great things about Reedy Creek Elementary. Reedy Creek MS used to be not so great (my daughter went there for a year) but I think it's actually improving quite a bit with a couple of new neighborhood assignments feeding in from what others tell me whose kids are there now.

I have lived in Medfield Estates for over 5 years now and love it! It is a wonderful neighborhood with large lots (ours is about an acre and a half) which gives me the privacy I want. Our neighbors are a good mix of older empty-nesters and younger families. The best part is definitely the location: I can be anywhere in 20 minutes or less! The Park (RTP) only takes about 20 minutes to get to for my hubby and Rex Hospital is about 5 minutes away. Lots of shopping nearby too. RDU airport is about 15 minutes away and we are blessed with none of the dreaded airplane noise.

As for the schools, my grandkids attend Reedy Creek Elementary and my daughter only has good things to say about it. The teachers seem to really care and the facility is clean and modern. She likes that the middle school is on the same campus.

I know that we will remain here for many more years to come, so I am not personally familiar with the resale values.

Good luck with your search!!

Dunno too much about Medfield Estates. I've driven around there to find the pool when my daughter went over to swim with a friend, and it's a mixture of older and newer homes.

My 2 younger kids have been at Reedy Creek (Elem and MS) since 2007.

They're perfectly good schools. No complaints here.

My g/f lives in Medfield and her daughter is getting ready to finish 5th grade at Reedy Creek. They LOVE living there, in fact, they moved from one street in Medfield to another. They love the pool. When they sold their house in 2007 it sold in 3 days!!
The other awesome thing about this neighborhood is that you can get to almost any point in the Triangle in about 5 minutes!!

Thanks for the info on Reedy Creek schools folks. That puts my mind at ease and only reinforces my interest in this area to live. So should we delete this thread now? I don't want to many folks getting interested in Medfeild. There may not be any homes left by the time i sell mine!! lol jk
