There is a refinery. The only one advertising in North Carolina. From what I hear, they are located in New York but have an office here. No one can compete with those prices. Trianglegold.com. maybe check it out. I have heard good things about them.
That reminds me...does anyone know of a place around here which buys/sells bullion? (and if you don't know what bullion is, you probably can't answer my question)
I know there used to be a dealer on Durham/Chapel Hill Blvd (near Red Lobster), but that's the only one I know of. Surely there must be others by now! I'd drive to VA or Charlotte if I have to.
Anyone who says they're buying gold is sending that gold in to a refinery and making a profit on it themselves. Why else would they be doing it? They're not providing a "service" out of the goodness of their heart.
Do some research and find a refinery to send your gold to -- that way you cut out the middle man and get all the profit for yourself.
There's no "secret," and anyone paying "SPOT" prices are still receiving a profit over and above what they pay you. You're getting ripped off unless you deal directly with a *refinery.*

Golden Isles, Raleigh. Not sure how good they are.
