I know you said you've done Chinese, but have you had real authentic Sichuan? Try Gourmet Kingdom in Carrboro - Super Wok is also good, but I think Gourmet Kingdom is better and has more choices. Although, I've heard the head chef left.

I just tried Chosunok. They have delicious korean food. They are located in Durham off of Hwy 54. I enjoyed the way they plated their food. Very tasty and different! Have fun exploring.

Jasmin Mediterranean Bistro has some pretty good Greek and Lebanese food. I'm not Greek or Lebanese so I'm not sure how authentic it is, but the food has been great every time I've been there. It's on the corner of Hillsborough and Horne, right across from campus. If you save room for dessert, be sure to try a piece of the baklava!

Another Mediterranian choice that we like is Taza Grill In Falls River on Durant Rd.

My Greek friends frequent Taverna Agora on Glenwood Ave. and say it has authentic Greek food. I love it too!

Here's an active Groupon for Turkish food for you:

(Tellulah's in Chapel Hill, in case it doesn't link well)

Also, this thread inspired me to take my (usually non-adventurouse eating) daugther to Mawa's last night. We shared a very special dinner, and she really enjoyed, and pushed her own limits a little bit. This is a great idea, and a great thread. Reps on the way.

As for Mawa's, the staff there was INCREDIBLE. They explained the menu, checked on us regularly, and most importantly made my daughter feel comfortable and at home. I'd recommend Mawa's to anyone who is willing to try "out of the ordinary", but would give a special nod to someone who is taking kids, or adults, who might need a little tender guidance. Really great!

I second Korean food. They love meat and they have tons of cool sides that come complimentary at lunch/dinner service.
