I have to say, the USPS has some huge problems, but number one is the fact that while they provide a valuable public service, they are not allowed to take tax money, yet are completely controlled by congress and have been saddled with huge retirement costs and restricted on what changes they can make.

On the other hand, I had to LOL when they decided to remove stamp machines and force people to go to the counter to essentially make work for the counter people, rather than reducing the counter people and having one guy keep 50 machines stocked and running.

So, the system is screwed for many reasons and it is not getting better. They can only deliver every other day and all that will do is delay the point at which it all unravels.

And thanks to Sam's I can grab a piece of cardboard and get my Forever stamps without ever setting foot into a Post Office.

The self-serve shipping kiosks sell stamps.

FWIW, many ATM machines also do. (Wachovia's for example.)

I try my best to drum up business for the USPS by reporting litter bugs on the NC DOT Swat A Litter Bug program!

I typically file an online report once or twice a week. They get a letter from some State Trooper muckity muck to not do it again.
