We will be downtown this weekend, and I'm drawing a blank on nice restaurants near the convention center that are open after 10pm. We would like to be within walking distance after graduation, which won't be over until around 10pm. Everywhere I'm seeing has hours until 10pm, which usually means no new seating after 10pm. I see that Sitti is, but that's one of the few that I've found. I'm looking for a variety of idea to present to the group.
Poole's is right next door and is open till Midnight. Among the best food in town, IMO. No reservations, but eating that late you shouldn't need them. How big is your group? Poole's is relatively small as far as area restaurants go. Sitti would probably be a good bet for a larger group.

I think it's only a few blocks away - we ate at Buku last night, and it was really good. They're open very late on the weekends. Lots of small plates (mostly Asian but other cuisines as well). It's got nice trendy decor, and the prices are pretty fair for what you get. Lots of seating both indoors and out.
I second Buku. One of my favorite restaurants. 42nd Street Oyster Bar is open till 11pm Saturday, also really good. Even if you're not registered, check out opentable.com for Raleigh to see what's downtown. There should be a decent number of places open late, esp on the weekends.
Hadn't even thought about looking through open table - and don't know why since we use it often for specific places. Excellent idea, and was very helpful in choosing. Thank you!
Poole's is always a great choice. I'm pretty sure that The Oxford is open late. La Volta is another good choice if you're looking for some really good Italian. Sono for Japanese. Jibarra for modern Mexican.
My daughter graduated a few weeks ago during the middle of the week and we went to Buku. They are open until 2am as I recall. Great desserts as well.
