Just getting started on the process of installing an in-ground pool in North Raleigh. If anyone has any suggestions for contractors, etc. I would love to have them. And if you don't mind sharing the installation costs, I would appreciate it. I have done a search and seen everything from $25k to $100k. I have a pretty small yard, so 18x30 is as big as I can get in and still have room for decking and landscaping without taking up the entire backyard.

I don't know of any, I'm also installing a pool, but mine will be above ground in order to save money. There seem to be a lot of in ground contractors in the area though, so I'm sure you should be able to find something. I'll let you know what I find out.

We did this last year. I've posted numerous threads with lots of photos and details. In short, after considering vinyl, fiberglass, and concrete pool types in various budget ranges we decided on concrete and went with Pool Professionals. It was an easy choice when we got the quote back and based on how easy they were to work with prior to our decision. I only felt comfortable having them do all that work back there and I was glad I went with them and still am.

After 4 years, we are continually pleased with service we have always received from Rising Sun (vinyl pool).

Unless you need to do it now, I'd recommend waiting until fall to put one in.

Your yard will be torn up pretty bad and in the fall you can plant your new grass and have it ready to go for next spring instead of dealing with all that dirt when it's too hot to do much planting.

Winter is even better - you won't want to be outside much anyway, and you can plant when done and have the pool ready for swimming in spring.
