Its north carolina guess what it gets cold in january at night, It was 9 degrees in late january in Fuquay. It snowed in Fuquay but when the day gets going and its sunny the chill eases, and it gets over 40 degrees. there are only a few times that it would stay below 32 degrees in the raleigh area. It is not florida so yes there is a winter. summer well august just su9ks. It is 94 degrees right now at 10:50 in the morning. It will hit 103 today. Its nasty. Plus 4 more days in a row on the way. Woof.
Yeah, that's it, let's all live within walking distance of our jobs, kid's schools, shopping, etc. so we can gleefully skip everywhere we go and watch all of our problems go away while the temperatures drop and the whole world becomes like one big happy place where it is never too hot or too cold and everyone loves each other. We can grow all our own food and make cars that run on tofu, it'll be great!! Excuse the sarcasm, but . . .
Denial isn't a river in Egypt.

There is no serious debate in the scientific community about whether human activity has an impact on the Earth's climate. The only real questions are the degree of human impact and whether we can reverse it.
We could go on and on when it comes to the global warming issue, why don't we agree that we both don't want the world to turn into a flaming ball of gas and do our part in our own ways to help without suggesting that everyone adopt the lifestyle of the Amish overnight.

Fair enough. I'm not suggesting that we all live like the Amish but living closer to work, combining trips, trading in the Tahoe for a Camry, and (God forbid) supporting public transportation will help.
I just find it amusing that people are complaining about the heat on a forum that is mostly dedicated to discussion of suburban housing.

I think in the perfect world, all of that may be possible. The fact is, everyone has different circumstances, and some of these suggestions are just not realistic for some of us. (except maybe trading in the Tahoe for a Camry ) Additionally, I really wasn't taking this particuliar thread as a major complaint station, more like some of us just sharing our experience of the inevitable heat wave...guess its all what you make of it.
