Help!!! I just moved to the area & I registered my child at Highcroft Drive Elementary & we are very happy there. My potential problem is that there is a new elementary school being built in Cary Park called Mills Park Elementary supposedly to open for the 2008-09 school year. I do not live in Cary Park but I am in close proximity to both elementary schools and do not want to be redistricted. Does anyone know what the base student assignment map area is for the Mills Park Elementary??? This new elementary school will have a big impact on Highcroft since a large number of kids from Cary Park attend Highcroft. So I have another question does anyone know what the new base attendance node map will be for Highcroft once the new elementary school opens? Any info would be great!

It is still too early to tell which nodes will be assigned to the Cary Park school. They usually don't make any decisions until sometime in January/February of the previous school year. They usually will post their initial proposal online and have public comment sessions regarding the redistricting. After that they will make their final decision. This usually occurs around April. I wouldn't count on knowing anything for sure until the spring of 08 for the 2008-2009 school year.

This is usually how they have done things in the past. Hope it helps.
