Sorry for creating a thread for a seemingly silly question. I have researched all over for the history of the building that Sansui currently resides in, but I can only get as far back as China One back in 2008.
I am a big fan of Sansui and just interested in what used to be there before the string of Asian restaurants.
I remember it being a deli. I think that may have been the first use for it. It had a name with a number in it, like the "1821 Deli" or something like that. This was in the late 80s maybe, I was a pretty young kid. I only went there once or twice with my mom. When my parents divorced, I didn't go on that side of town as much, so I don't remember much of what it was after that.
It's funny, I went to Sansui one day a few months ago, and got to chatting with the owner. I told him I remembered it being a deli.
Thank you! I mentioned that to my co-worker who was trying to think of the place as well. He actually recalls the deli now.
I can now enjoy the rest of my day
