Does anyone know if the town of Cary is responsbile for dense weeds growing in the common area behind the houses. We think there may be ticks and fleas there, and vermin. But the owners of the development do nothing. Please advise

Cary has an ordinance for keeping places like this mowed to within code. Contact the Town of Cary and let them deal with it. Be sure to copy in your town council person and the Mayor.

Is it a common area within your neighborhood? If so then it is likely owned by the HOA and the HOA would be responsible for maitaining the area. I would check with them first. If they tell you that the land is owned by the city then I would follow up with the city.

You can report it. They gave citations out in my neighborhood earlier this year. Even if it is HOA maintained, the town can still give a citation if it 's not taken care of.
