I's like to compare Clayton with Fuquay-Varina. First the obvious, Clayton is much easier to spell! lol
What I am wondering is about crime, cost of living, atmosphere.
We had pretty much settled on Clayton and then I read a few comments on there being alot about F/V worth looking into.
We still want small town, 1 acre or more plot... subdivisions fine as long as the fees aren't insane.

I live in Fuquay Varina and I love it! We have 2 small towns to walk around called Fuquay and the other is Varina. We have nice parks . There is easy access to stores and a 20 minute ride to Downtown Raleigh. Fuquay Varina is in Wake County and Harnett County. There is all kinds of food places here. I can tell you about Fuquay Varina but I never lived in Clayton so I don't know much about it. You really need to visit both so you can get a feel for yourself. Getting a place over an acre is possible in Fuquay Varina. Good Luck!

One fun thing about living in Fuquay Varina is when you go out of town, or state, and tell someone where you live, the look on their face is priceless. "You live where????!!!!"

Also listening to my GPS trying to pronounce Fuquay is always good for a laugh.

And it plays havoc with the auto correct on my iPhone...

In terms of the three things you mentioned, I would say only atmosphere is vastly different. Both towns will yield ya a nice plot of land.

What in the world are you talking about?

I have lived in NC my entire life. I have lived in Clayton for the last 21 and my vote will always be Clayton over FV.

I drive through FV on my way to and from work each day from Clayton. I wouldn't even compare the two, Clayton wins in all catagories!
