Fantastic article, glad they offered clarification on errors in thinking. Terrific.

I would have been a little more impressed if they did not try so hard to blame old staffers when surely someone has been overseeing their work for the last two years, but it's a start.

Today's TBJ reports the former Kroger building has been sold for $4.1M:

Former Kroger building in Cary sold for $4.1M - Triangle Business Journal

No announced plans on what the new buyer will do with it.

Thanks for the update! I live less than a mile from there and am anxious to see what goes into that space. FWIW, it's got pretty poor access in and out of the shopping center.

Funny, I wondered why I saw someone coming out of that building yesterday!

Pretty poor is an understatement. You literally cannot exit onto 55 toward Apex during morning or evening commute. Even during slower day times it is a challenge.

You can access 55 in either direction at the light immediately south of the main entrance on 55. The inconvenience is only that the access light does not feed directly into the shopping center but rather to Westpark which has access into that shopping center.

Biggest inconvenience is not having an entrance on high house. 55 entrance isn't a problem.

Also if you read the article closely the buyer clearly confirms they are a retail developer, and this is a retail space. Good news.

The buyer is actually the company that built the place and sold the land to Kroger in a build to suit deal. they also own the rest of the center so tha t should be good as the interests of the two parcels should be aligned as they are dependent on each other.

It was a messed up idea from the get-go, but an out-and-out apology?

What next?
Put the ICE office next to the Lowe's Home Improvement store off Capital Blvd in Raleigh.

Far less distance to transport detainees.

Viva La Migra!

My Mom worked for La Migra back when they had cojones and did their job.
