Hi, we have been house hunting with plans to move to Holly Springs/Apex/Cary from Massachusetts. We spent a lot of time house hunting there this weekend and noticed 4 homes in a row for sale on Kenmore Drive. Anybody know whether something funky is up in that neighborhood or on that street? We like that neighborhood but it just seems curious... Any insights would be appreciated!!

I don't know anything about that specific situation, but I will say that I know of two instances in the past few years where there have been 3 homes for sale in a row on the same street, in a neighborhood (am sure it happens more than we would think actually). Each time, there were individual circumstances for each family that caused the houses to be on the market - nothing wrong with the lots, street or neighborhood - just life situations that required them to move and happened to occur at the same time. I agree it's worth looking in to and hope your realtor or someone on this forum can give you more info about that specific street, but know that it is possible that it's just an unlucky coincidence (as I'm sure everyone looking at those homes has the same questions/hesitations you do).

Agreed. We just sold our home, and within the same time frame, the house next door went on sale as well as the one beside our other next door neighbor. Our circumstances are all different - we want something bigger, our neighbors are finishing their medical residency - just the right time to move for all us. Maybe you can stop someone in the 'hood who is outside and ask them about it.

It may just be coincidence. However I can tell you something that I was told about a year ago... and don't shoot the messenger on this, I got it from a reliable source. A friend of mine who lives in Sunset Ridge told me that there was a pretty active swinger group that had developed in in the subdivision. As a result several couples filed for divorce and a whole bunch of houses went on the market at the same time. I don't know if it is this street. Again, could just be coincidence. BTW, I love Sunset Ridge and Sunset Oaks - I think they are great subdivisions. We almost bought there but settled on where we are now. Good luck to you!

cemetary behind the street + the pond = spirits running wild. kidding.

could be a traffic issue as it's somewhat of a cut through from holly springs road to sunset lake. funny, I heard the rumor of the sunset oaks swingers club too......I'll check Snopes.com to see if it's true. :-)

I like it...someone with humor! Instead of putting someone down.

Oh, I think people are put down humorously all time time. Not just on CD.

The trick is learning not to take one's self too seriously.

That said, to the OP: if Snopes confirms that rumor? Buy.

I think you mean "Kenmont".
Based on the age of those homes it may simply be time for the owners to downsize/retire. Quite a bit of that taking place in the older sections of Sunset Ridge-people moved in with young kids 10-12 years ago and now the kids are college-bound.

I think you are thinking of Sunset Fairways? Kenmont doesn't cut through, it dead-ends at a cul-de-sac.

It does....sort of.....From Sunset to Kenmont to Elmcrest to Sunset Fairways to Holly Springs Road. Of course, just going Sunset Fairways will save you all the turns.

Either way, I'm sure everyone on Sunset Fairways is happy with me for posting this.
