Considering Cary is a magnet for people from higher cost areas, I'm guessing there are a lot of cash & carry people in Cary. I'm not sure it's as "borrowed money" as they may think.

It's funny to see stereotypes of Cary denounced with other stereotypes of Cary.

We all know the well known acronym for Cary - Containment Area for Relocated Yankees. A Raleigh native recently told me that many years ago, before Cary really burgeoned, it was known as Cannot Afford Raleigh Yet!

Some hate it. Some love it....c'est la vie....it is what it is. Who cares.

That's because Cary is that popular and mysterious.

Agreed. I'm aware of quite a larger number of homes in the mil plus category that were bought straight cash in Cary.

We're from NJ (also lived in FL and PA), visited Cary, and loved it! Guess we'd fit right in there!

You hear both used today. Of course, there is always Chapel Hill, which is (in general) more expensive than either Cary or Raleigh.
