For fresh "home-made" hummus, it's Neomonde hands-down. For the mass-produced, I like the ones they have at Costco (Sabra is one of the brands).

I'm a big fan of the hummus at Baba Ghannouj. We go to the Durham one in Homestead Market (near Southpoint), but they have several locations.

We ate at the Baba Ghannouj last night in Cary by the Pet Smart. The hummus was good. I really liked the Chicken Gyros

neomonde hummus > sitti hummus, in my personal opinion. plus i can eat for cheaper, better, & i get the little pistachio birdsnest desserts that i lovelovelove. the only reason i go to sitti over neomonde is for the atmosphere if we want a dressier evening out.

also, believe it or not, village deli at cameron village has a really good hummus platter. it comes with grilled pita, cucumber, & tomato but i always get extra pita, no tomato. it is surprisingly good & i actually crave it sometimes in a weird way.

as for store-purchased hummus, i'm a big fan of trader joe's roasted garlic hummus. i could eat it with a spoon.

Neomonde definitely.

Also, there a Middle Eastern market near the intersection of Hillsborough and Beryl Rd that has tasty hummus. I forget the name of the place. Has a red and white awning and it two doors down from Waffle House.

Oh yeah and Mitch's Tavern has a good hummus platter for lunch that's pretty cheap!

Sabra is great - but as other posters mentioned - a little expensive. My favorite brand is called Bobbi's - Whole Foods used to sell it. I really miss it. Just looking on their facebook page and some other NC folks were asking about it. I also like a brand called Sonny and Joe's - again, can't be found around here but you can pick some up next time you are travelling - according to the website - Ingles markets carry it and there are locations in NC.
