I looked at a town home located around High Lake Ct. Raleigh, which is right above Lake Johnson.

The town home looks nice and affordable. The neighborhood looks clean too. What I am concerned most are safety and convenience. Schools do not matter much.

I have 2 other options, one in North Raleigh and another one in Morrisville. Both are nice but a bit pricier.

What do you guys think?

Thanks a lot.

If you also really like what downtown Raleigh has to offer, Lakeview would certainly be the choice of the three.

I understand your concern about safety however I will give you this piece of advice....asking for people's perceptions on safety on a board such as this isn't a good idea. Safety is such an individualistic feeling. There are situations that I would be totally comfortable in where you might be a nervous wreck (and vice versa). The best thing you could do is contact the local police department and ask for some crime statistics for the area(s) you are looking in. That way you get unbiased information and can make your own informed decision.

Good luck!

Also consider that the Lake Johnson area is heavily populated by college students. And many of your neighbors will be students.

I just paid a visit to the one in Lakeview and talked to a few residents there. They are all positive about the place. I also visited the one in Morrisville. It is nice too. I have narrowed down my choices to 2. Will toss a coin.......

Thanks, ervery one for your advices.

My vote would be for the Lake Johnson area as you are close to the Farmers Market and downtown for nightlife, shows, etc, and close to I-40 as well as Cary, and Cameron Village and Hillsborough St. Crabtree and North Hills are 20 mins tops. Morrisville is nice. ANd likely a good investment. Great if you work at RTP or Durham but there's not much there...not much goes on.
