Um, expand that range to 30 - 50 age group. Many men secretly think they can (and should) get a supermodel and have expectations aligned therein.

Well, 40+ there seem to be a fair number of divorced guys around (or ones who are separated, or just claim to be) but they have a lot going on with kids, ex-wives and associated drama. And as two previous posters said, most want to be dating 10-15+ years younger. As a healthy active 47 year old, it's a little frustrating to say the least - and no, I'm not going to date someone in their 60's!

I've been trying to meet people via Meetups with limited success so far. I've avoided the ones that are specifically for "singles" because all their events seem to involve drinking.

Good luck to anyone who's looking though!

My wife was watching a movie the other night. One of those romantic comedies about a woman looking for Mr Right. My wife said "I'm SO glad that I don't have to date anymore!" So, that taught me a valuable lesson. . . . . .I can screw up pretty bad and my wife will stay with me because the alternative is re-entering the dating scene in her 40s

Can't speak for the other guys in the given demographic.... But this guy is sitting home wondering where all the single women are. Just not into the whole college party in bars all night scene. Contemplating on the whole on line thing just to meet people...

Good question (I am married for five years, 33yo, female).

A guy I have known since I was 4 is moving to the area to work at Duke (I helped him get the job), and he is 32 and single. I will let you know where he hangs out. Without stalking him. That would be strange.

As someone having this same experience, meetup.com has been pretty useless. I've met girlfriends to hang out with, but few QUALITY men. Sports Bars are only good if you want a guy that hangs out watching sports and drinking. Same for the "nite clubs" around here. Quite a few immature "older" guys out there. Been single too long and not very "trainable" - saying that somewhat jokingly, somewhat seriuos. Most of the time, it seems that you have to count on your friends to introduce you to someone they know to get a quality match.
