We're trying to find a soccer program for our 5 year old (turns 6 in August) and everything is a 30 minute drive away from our house.

We know that there are soccer fields at Middle Creek Park in Cary, which is only 3 miles from our house, but I cannot find any info about soccer programs there on the city of Cary's website.

Does anyone know if youth soccer is played there, and how to sign up for it?

You'll probably need to call the Town of Cary to see if they have any soccer games at those fields. There is also the futbol club of Cary which I know some kids play for www.fccary.org - not sure where they play either.

They play at Green Hope Elementary, which is about 35-40 min away from our house.

The YMCA on Holly Springs Road is the place to go for youth soccer. It's about two miles from the Middle Creek fields. The new season is starting in a few weeks.

Did you check out Fuquay? (www.fvaa.org/Sports/Soccer.aspx) Home games are played at Old Honeycutt.

Yeah, I thought they might be around here.

I feel your pain, as I live near GHE and have had to go to Middle Creek for basketball!

Thanks for the ideas! I did not realize that the YMCA offered soccer for non-members. I just went to their website and printed out their enrollment form. My wife is going to drop it off on her way back from Whole Foods this afternoon. They say on their website that there will probably be a waiting list because we are signing up so late. If we can't get in, we'll check into the FV league.
