I am relocating to the Raleigh, NC area and want to know which of the cities to pick to live in. I am a senior citizen. I am from Montana and want a country feel to my life. I like the simple life with little traffic. Wooded areas, lakes and friendly people.

Lots of places will fit the bill. What else is important - proximity to mountains/beach/family/shopping, acreage, regional airport access? We'll help you find a great town - we just need a little more info.

You probably would want somewhere more rural than the Triangle for all of that (which is true in most of NC, but less so in the Raleigh area). What has put Raleigh, specifically (or NC specifically) in your sights, i.e. what drew you to our area to begin with?

Most of NC is rural, but there are 3 large metro areas: Charlotte, the Triad, and the Triangle.

I'm not sure the Raleigh area is the place to look for lakes, wooded areas, country feel and little traffic.

What you seek, You will not find here.

It's a major metropolitan area, full of traffic, overbuilt to the hilt.
