Hello. I've read some older posts but looking for the most recent information on recommendations on specific salons and stylists. Looking for someone who focuses on hair health and growth. I do not wear my hair bone straight. Usually relax, roller set, and wrap 3-4x a year. Looking for recommendation. Older posts recommended Lavish Hair Spa (no specific stylist) and Gia at Perfection. I also came across a place called In Flight in Durham that I walked into but can't find many reviews of the place. Any high recommendations welcome. Willing to travel and pay for the right service. Thank you.
Nearly everyone I know has gone natural...but I noticed that the ones who still have relaxers are no longer "loyal" to one beautician like in the days of old. Folks just jump around to different stylists. Also, "discount" salons like Studio 10 and Dominican salons are both becoming very popular. At places like this you get the first person available, not necessarily a "set" stylist. And at the discount salons, a wrap is like $10-$15.
I am natural but I occasionally visit Amara at Impressive Tresses. I don't have the number, but it is close to Triangle Town Center, in the shopping center where Lane Bryant, Coldstone and Rack Room is located. Amara is good, and she respects your wishes for whatever you want for your hair.
