If you enjoy paint maintenance but despise waxing you are either using the wrong wax or too much. I can apply protection (I can't call it "wax" because I no longer use wax. Instead I have switched to a polymer.) in about a half hour on a crew cab long bed truck. Granted, that time is spent just on applying the protection. I will have all day in the job due to the prep work of washing, clay bar, re-washing, taping, and buffing. However, those steps aren't necessary to apply protection. They are necessary for a flawless paint.
I'm not sure who runs the detail shop now but the guy who used to own the shop that is adjoined to the Bunkey's on Glenwood/Pleasant Valley did great work. He used to own a Buick Grand National that was absolutely beautiful so just ask the owner if he did and you'll know you're going to receive great work.
I also recommend this guy. I've seen his work and it's excellent.
