I have two sons who are in high school and have outgrown the sportsclips cuts. Anyone know a place or tech who specializes in mens cuts? We have Tanas and Bedford by us. We tried Bedford but I think they are better for women than men.
Thanks.

I just got a pretty good cut at a new place in the shopping center with Trader Joe's on Wake Forest Road. It was just $10

Lady Jane's Haircuts for Men

Of course, you will notice this looks similar to sports clips (though I liked this place better) so it may not be for you since you mentioned your teenage sons have "outgrown" sportclips type haircuts. I get that in a way, but I can't bring myself to pay $25+ for a mens haircut which I would expect from a salon. Even with the cheese factor, you can sometimes find a great haircut at some of these cheaper places. I simply make a point of remebering the name so I can use them again the next time.

Thanks NRG. I'm with you on not paying the exhorbitant fees some places get. Will check out Lady Janes.

I got my haircut from there as well. It was great! Danielle cut my hair. I told her what I wanted and she cut it perfect. It was like a $25 dollar hair cut you would get from a fancy salon. But this was better...shaved neck and a head massage while she shampoos your hair. I am definetly going back.

Sorry. Just realized that didn't sound good. It just means that they would like a little more styling than just taking the clippers to the head. If that's all they wanted I could do it myself and save money. We only do that in the spring!

Fwiw, more important than where you go, is who you go see. Basic rule is find a person that gets to know you and your hair and don't just walk in and let anyone cut your hair. You'll look better for it.

Have you seen Crazy, Stupid, Love? Yes, guys, it does matter how your hair is cut. The goal is not just to thwart growth. Generally, you do get what you pay for. Also generally, stylists want to work where they can make the most money. It is a competitive field.

Elle (next to Kohl's, Harris Teeter) is a good salon. You might want to try there. (All of you. :P )
