the neighborhoods that you are considering are all in the downtown area so i assume that you will likely be staying in that area or at the least be in that area after a day of abode-hunting. in light of that, i'd recommend checking out places in glenwood south & on fayetteville street in downtown raleigh. you can walk through those areas at night & see plenty of places packed with people enjoying dinner & drinks.
for local brews with a gorgeous view of the raleigh skyline at night, go to
boylan bridge brewpub at the corner of boylan & hargett streets. (
Boylan Bridge Brewpub / Raleigh, NC)
for good local pizza with terrace dining, hit moonlight pizza on the corner of w. morgan & boylan. (
Moonlight Pizza Company | Raleigh, NC) or you can hit lilly's pizza in five points for good pizza, but less seating (
Lilly's Pizza | 1813 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC)
raleigh times bar on hargett is a decent local joint to grab some grub & a brew (
The Raleigh Times Bar). for a different flair of dining, grab a patio seat at the hive at the busy bee café on s. wilmington (
Busy Bee Cafe).
let us know if you wish for more upscale or different dining options as they are available but it seemed you were looking for more local, casual places. enjoy your visit.
