Hello, Everyone:

I'm thinking about renting a townhome in Northclift Village (Dixon Drive area) across the street from Sanderson High School.

Can anyone tell me about the neighborhood?

Safety, noise, etc.? Much crime? Dodgy stuff going on? How much noise from the high school?

What's the average rent price around there?

It certainly seems convenient enough.

Thanks so much!

Hi, I live in Northclift on Northclift drive. I sometimes hear the band practicing in the afternooons and the football game cheering, but otherwise it's a quiet neighborhood. I haven't had any problems with safety, crime or any dodgy stuff. Houses seem to go from $900 to $1200, not sure about townhomes. Go check rentometer.com to get an estimate or craigslist to get averages.

Is Northclift Village the townhome community on Dixon that has that gross pool? I always wondered how it can be so unusable if the townhome residents are paying that monthly fee of $169 (saw that on a for sale listing for a townhome).

i lived in those townhomes on dixon (just across from the high school) about six years ago. the pool was gross then but i thought they cleaned it up before i left. strange.

at any rate, the neighborhood itself was relatively quiet. like previously mentioned, we could sometimes hear band practices & the band playing at football games, but otherwise the school wasn't terrible. dixon drive does get crowded on school mornings, but it's not a hindrance to getting out of the neighborhood, just tired & annoyed-looking teenagers waiting to get into the parking lot at the school.

i have no idea what the rents are going for now. at the time i got a fantastic deal since my roommate's dad owned the house & rented it to us for really cheap. most of the neighbors were friendly to us, but that may be also because my roommate's dad knew them from when he lived there (he lives in town & would be by occasionally for repairs & visits, etc.).

overall, it's not a bad community but i think $169/mo in HOA fees is steep, especially for what one got there. that alone would probably make me really stop to consider but if it's a great deal, it's an okay neighborhood. the houses were a decent size & had a one-car garage which was nice.
