Is kindy in Wake County full or half day? Or does it vary by school?

Just curious what I should start preparing for, sending lunches, nap mats and what not. Up here in NH his kindergarten was only going to be half day.

KG is full day in Wake County. You can pack a lunch or buy it. They do usually have naps in KG (at least the first half the year). I wouldn't go out and buy a nap mat, most kids are asked to use a towel.

Thanks! My son has been in pre-k for 2 years now so I think he's ready for full day.

I did look at the site but I couldn't find whether it was full of half day. Seems like supplies vary by school so we will have to wait until we have an actual address to see what school he'll be in. lol.

Also, note that many of wake county schools are year round, so the last track just started on Monday August 1st. If your son is going to a traditional calendar school, you have a couple of weeks, but year round started the 9th of July for tracks 1, 2, 3...........

Thanks. Unfortunately he'll end up missing some school down there if we get the house we want. It just wasn't possible to get down there before August. Up here he'd be starting August 31st so while he's missing school there he wouldn't even be started yet here.

I hope he'll be able to jump right in.

I'm sure he'll be fine. It's kindergarten, and you'll likely find that he's done a lot of the same stuff in preschool.
