I haul in my own popcorn when going to the movies. I like Trader Joe's "reduced guilt" popcorn. I discovered it after listening to all that screaming and hollering about sodium and cholesterol jazz from my doctor

Yes! Galaxy has great popcorn!
Howell Theater in Smithfield also tastes great.

In the larger chains known for filling up the warmer from big bags, I had always assumed any popcorn actually being popped was more for show and marketing (does anything smell better than fresh popped popcorn???) than for actual sale. Sure, it might make it into your container, but I always felt it was more an enticement than anything else.

Nowadays, I don't bother with popcorn at the movies because I always find it a disappointment. When I get a craving, I just make my own in a pot on the stove and butter it how I want.
