Northgate park is a older neighborhood that is re-inventing itself. Some of the older homes are getting remodeling jobs to bring back the old character but with a modern appeal. Also, it depends on what area you live in around that area. You may have nice homes but along the way not so appealing ones a couple of blocks down.

I'll just add my voice to the chorus of those saying Northgate Park is a great neighborhood. I live in the adjacent Colonial Village neighborhood, which I'm quite fond of and which shares some similarities with Northgate. We've gotten to know plenty of amazing people in both neighborhoods during our four years here, and we are regularly users of the park itself, especially its dog park. Durham's best affordable neighborhoods, imo.

Default Colonial Park

Thanks for chiming in from Colonial Village, Jon. That's another neighborhood I'm interested in. Do you think it's reasonably safe/on it's way up? Are there any major differences between Colonial Village and Northgate Park?
