Hello to everyone! I will be getting to Raleigh tomorrow. Just wondering what your thoughts were on the embassy suites in crabtree? How is crabtree... friendly area? Also, what are the closest things near there to do?

the Embassy Suites at Crabtree is very nice...with an indoor pool. It is right across the street from the Crabtree Valley Mall. There is a Container Store close by. That area is mostly shopping, so depending on what else you want to do, you will need transportation.

I would definitely check out the NC Museum of Art. It's in a relatively new space and is fairly large. You could spend several hours there if you looked at all the exhibits. The best part is that it's free. Special exhibits cost money but not the main museum. There are also walking trails (with art) outside the museum. If the weather isn't too hot you might enjoy the walk. Your hotel should be able to give you directions.

What kinds of things are you looking for, to do, and how long will you be here? Do you want museums and tourist attractions (i.e. "daytime attractions"), or restaurants, nightclubs and "fun" (i.e. "nighttime attractions")?

Caution...Crabtree is convenient to lots of things, including the highway, and the mall has everything you could need.

However, that is a fairly traffic-y spot...sometimes just getting across that intersection to get on 40 takes a few turns of the light, so allow plenty of time and be patient.
