Thanks for posting Mike. I love the Charleston's. The only thing I think holding us back from them is the reduced yard space and most of all the commute... There really need to be better options to get into Bedford. Traffic is not so great on falls near 5:00.

Great pics Mike. I live right next to Bedford and go for a walk through the Charleston Section almost daily.

I agree that Falls of Neuse can be a pain, that is why I avoid using the traditional Bedofrd Entrance (Dunn Road at Falls of Neuse) except for weekends. There is a back way out of Bedford that I use. You can take Falls River Avenue to a traffic light at Durant Road. Right onto Durant and then tunr left at the next light onto Falls of Neuse (Road is 4 lanes at this point) and voila! You have missed the congo line traffic! The map below shows the route:
I see they have put a traffic light on the Falls of the Neuse and Dunn intersection. They can't fire that up soon enough.
Of course, I think people driving PAST Bedford will not be crazy about it.

Wow! I had not idea. I have avoided that place so much that it is no wonder I missed that. I guess that happened in just the past few days. Thanks for the update Mike.

NRG,
They were finishing hanging lights yesterday, and drilling to install sensors.
Sometimes you just can't blink...
I have a ? Historically why was a false door to the porch placed on Charleston homes? Doe anyone know? I am curious because I know back when they they were charged taxes on their homes by how many doors leading to the outside a home had. Hence they had the long windows to the floor to avoid getting taxed to death on their homes. WHy the false front doors I wonder? The homes are very charming. Thanks for posting these Mike.
I love love love Bedford. I especially love the craftsman style bungalows. Are they planning any more roads in and out of Bedford? It doesn't make sense for such a large community to have only two options to leave the neighborhood.

In Charleston, SC, historic homes, that false door is actually usually a sidewalk level entrance to the homes and grounds. Many are very formally appointed.
Here's a shot from another feller's Charleston, SC tour:
