Our AC is on the blink! We can add freon and it cools, but we need to replace the coil, any idea where to buy one and then get in installed? We were told it would be cheaper that way, we ran the upstairs unit to death last week trying to keep it above 80 downstairs, and wouldn't you know it,now the upstairs unit is out..we think it needs much more than freon however!
It is made by Carrier.

Thanks

Any HVAC company would be your best bet. My old townhome was leaking freon and the culprit was my DOG. Yes, he had peed (sp?) on the unit for 3 years and I saw him do it and never thought anything of it...the acid or whatever in urine will eat through the copper coils and freon leaks out. Costs about a thousand dollars with labor. He told me that was a very common repair.

If you're not versed in A/C repair, best hire a tech to do it.

You can hurt yourself easily if you don't understand the procedures.
