what towns or areas are considerd best neihberhoods to live in , or most prestigious to live in? for example is it chapel hill?
or is the triangle are not considerd nice at all compared to other areas
Actually there are some very prestigious neighborhoods in all three areas of the Triangle, be it Raleigh, Durham, or Chapel Hill. It's more about the neighborhood than the town for the most part, although I think if you had to pick a town it would probably be Chapel Hill or Cary.
$320,000 will only get you a very modest home however, and certainly not in one of the prestigious neighborhoods.
thats cool imean i just wanna be in and around the nice streets i realise i wouldnt have one of the top houses or anything but need to be in a safe area that is good to raise children no ghettos near by or anything like that
and would a buying budget of 320,000 get me anything decent

When you said the "most Prestigious," i immediately thought of neighborhoods where homes sell for $750,000 and up to infinity.
At $320,000, you have a lot of choices of very nice neighborhoods, urban, rural, or suburban. You may be looking at an existing single family home, or a new home, depending on where you settle in.
Average existing home sales in Wake County run about $225,000.
Average existing home sales in Cary run about $240,000.
Average new construction in Cary is just over $500,000.
$320,000 fits into the picture very nicely, with a great many options for comfortable living.
Do not discount SW Durham either... I may be alittle byist in my opinion since I am moving there at the end of the month... But check out these communities... $320K should buy you a great home in any of these neighborhoods.
I guess I am comparing it to houses in CA, but I think $320k will get you way more than a "very modest" home. That is still above the median price for the area.
although I think if you had to pick a town it would probably be Chapel Hill or Cary.
What are the 'very prestigious neighborhoods' of Cary?
