We have some extended family coming in mid-September - during the week.

They are big beer drinkers and I would love to take them to a beer tasting and local brewery.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Please read this topic, it has pretty much a compiled list of all breweries/brewpubs in the area. I know there are a lot, you may want to limit it to a few, I guess it all depends where exactly you are.

When exactly in Sept?
The Museum of Life & Science in Durham is having a "Science of Beer" event on the 22nd.

I imagine, if it is at all like the wine event, they will have several local brewers there. Would be a good way to check out several different ones in one place at one time.

Big Boss is my favorite in terms of local beer - http://bigbossbrewing.com/brewery.aspx

Another idea for tours is Beltline Brew Tours - Tours
