Going to a concert at the Durham Performing Arts Center and the Durham Marriot Center City is completely sold out; any other hotels in the area that you would recommend? Thanks, in advance, for any help you can provide!!!!

The Kings Daughters Inn is FANTASTIC. I admit to being biased here because the owners/renovators (Deanna and Colin Crossman) are good friends and because I've been following their progress since before they closed on the building. But, my wife and I have stayed there as paying customers and loved it.

And don't just take my word -- TripAdvisor gives them 5 stars (with 64 of 66 reviews being 5 stars and only 1 4 star), and they're a AAA Four Diamond property, one of just a couple dozen properties so rated in the state.

It's a quick drive or bike ride to the DPAC or a nice walk, or take the Bull City Connector Mon-Sat.

I would expand the search area a bit. The DPAC is easily accessible with ample parking so there's no need to stay right next door.

Try Duke Towers. It's not walking distance, but its not far.

Use Google Maps...just put the DPAC in the center of your map, then Search Nearby for Hotel and you should find plenty of options.

Oct 8th is the World Beer Festival in Durham. Not surprised hotels are sold out--looks like people are doing the smart thing and finding a place to sleep it off!

Football games also generate hotel demand. UNC plays at home that weekend. Duke has a bye week.
