Tony's by Car Maxx on Glenwood Ave. is another pizza place that might be on the chopping block. Quality has been sliding the last year, and the place needs a top to bottom cleaning. We probably ate our last pizza there a few weeks ago, as the place smelled like a butt for the second time in a row. I guess we'll have to try Randy's on Lake Boone
I used to live walking distance from that Tony's a couple of years ago and it was great, went all the time. Sad to hear that it's not so good anymore.

That's too bad. They were not going to win any James Beard awards, but the grub was solid. It was a nice alternative to the amped up places a few blocks away on Glenwood.

Went to Randy's last night for a cheese pizza. It was a little stuffy and warm inside, but the pizza was great. Will get back to Randy's next week.

There seem to be a lot of Randy's around. Are they all affiliated? The only one I've been to is Randy's on Miami Blvd in RTP which is pretty good.

It looks like MyWay Tavern is going to take a crack at this location.

Yeah me too. Great food great atmosphere. I like that not many people outside Holly Springs know about it. I hope the expansion to Raleigh doesn't change things.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with the original owners or kitchen staff? At one time they gave me the basic recipe for their marina sauce, but I loved the manicotti and would like to duplicate it. I am guessing the manicotti came frozen and they put sauce and cheese on it, but I could be wrong. I want to try and duplicate it at home. The cheese on top may be the most important part, but the sauce too.

Chris Candes was one of the owners...I think. That was many years ago. Maybe you could find a family member.
