Been experiencing some disconnections since last night. Only way to get internet back is to reboot the modem and after a couple of minutes, it disconnects again. Anyone has this same issue? (in Cary)

this was happening to us intermittently since the hurricane came through. i called TWC yesterday & they did one of their "diagnostic checks" on the line, claiming that there was no interruption in service. they could see when we had to reset our modem as a manual reboot, not a reboot from their end. i was told to have someone come out & look at it would now be a charge of $17.99 because it's "not a problem on TWC's end so we have to charge". apparently this is new policy.

you may want to connect your computer directly to the modem, then reboot the modem, & confirm if it's the modem. if so, try replacing it at TWC. you may also try replacing the cable between router & modem which seemed to do the trick for us. at least for now.

i have no idea if that is actually helpful, if it's something that would be affecting your or not but i think that TWC has some issues going on for which they won't accept liability & they will require you to prove that you've done X, Y, & Z before they fix anything. just trying to save you a 40+ minute phone call like i had yesterday. ugh.

i tried to connect the modem directly and the same issue was happening. I was pinging their gateway and dns and kept getting timed out. But early this morning, it stabilized, so far no disconnections

you guys aren't alone-- Century link in North Raleigh has been on the fritz for over 2 weeks. Replacing everything and rebooting not resolving it.
