We live near a large family-owned farm. Their main fence borders a major road that takes us in and out of our subdivision and many of the homes in our subdivision back up to their land.

Today we noticed the face of a dead boar or very hairy, odd-looking pig on a utility or phone pole right inside their property, behind their fence. Mr. boar faces the parking lot of our pool.

I don't think it's taxidermy since it's only the face of the boar and we didn't see a mounting backer thing.

Questions:

1. Can we do anything to get them to move it? Something tells me anyone can gut an animal anywhere they want on their property and we don't have a say in it... but I thought I'd ask. If this thing starts to decompose, it could frighten a child or two.
2. Are there wild boars in the area? I've heard gunshots coming from the farm... maybe it's boar-related... just curious. (We're on the Cary/Chatham county border)

We may walk over to get a better look later today... I'll post pictures if we do.

I've never heard of wild boars in this area.
That is totally sick though, no matter what it actually is. Maybe someone did it TO them? Either way, I think I'd call the police non-emergency number and ask them to come take a look.

Call the utility company that owns the pole.

That's what I was thinking. I'm sure they'll be interested.

I know I shouldn't laugh but.......LOL!!!! I have never seen anything like that! That's on the Cary/Chatham border? Perhaps it's an early Halloween decoration?!?!?

OMG.....That is WEIRD!

OK, I wonder if it is a taxidermy thing and they put it up to scare away deer or other animals? Maybe even a REALLY good mask?

Not to be morbid or anything, but if it were a recently killed animal, wouldn't it have flies around it and goop dripping on the pole? (Or maybe I watch too many movies!?) I also seriously don't think there are any wild boars around here to kill, so where it would have come from, I don't know. I guess it could always have been transported.

I'd probably do as others suggest and call the utility company or the non-emergency police line.
