Hi,
i just received a speeding ticket for going 15 mi over the limit (80mi in a 65mph zone) in orange county , i live in alamance and was driving my husbands car and i am not in the insurance policy.. I just want to know would that affect him at all? the state highway patrol officer did not ask me for any insurance just my license and it was clear until today... Please advise on this I am really worried. thanks
Your insurance company will get your driving record which will raise your own rates on your car insurance (I assume you have car insurance).
If you live together, and you don't have your own car with your own insurance, that isn't kosher as most insurance CO's want to know the drivers in the household.
well thats the thing he has the car under his name and in the insurance he is the only driver. so im not really sure if thats going to show up on there at all? since the officer didnt ask me for that

Your husband's insurance is tied to the vehicle registration. The insurance information would have come up when he ran the plates.

The officer recorded the make, model, & license tag number of the vehicle, so whether he asked you for your insurance card or not is irrelevant.
You will get the points on your license, however your husbands insurance could still go up because he let an unauthorized driver (you) drive his car and you got a ticket which means he now represents more of a liability risk to the insurance company.
thanks for the advise and i actually contacted the insurance company and they informed me it wouldnt affect him at all. Just gotta deal with the court stuff now but i will defenetly ask for pjc.
