So is the Taste of Durham Fest this Sunday? The website is so confusing figured I would ask ya'll
Honestly, I would pass on going. It use to be a great event about 5-6 years ago held in downtown durham. Now it is held in a parking lot in RTP. Most of the food vendors or regional chains and not many local joints. Not many of the popular local foodie scene places participate. They do usually have some decent music, but the lack of decent food offerings and the overall lame atmosphere make this a pass for me.

Sounds like it USED to be a destination..What is with the parking lot location? Suppose it is easier for frequent flyers to access..
WHY did they move it - and basically mess it up? What was the rationale? I've never been, but to me the American Tobacco Campus/Downtown is MADE for an event like this. Add some musicians and performers, and *BAM*, you've got yourself an event to look forward to. An event in an RTP parking lot makes me feel like I'm doing something sleezy.
We went to this 3 years ago when we moved to the area and accidentally parked across the street where there was an Anime convention going on with a few hundred 10-17yr old kids (and adults) dressed up as their favorite japenese cartoon character sword fighting in the hotel...freaked out the wife!
