I was laid off this year but have picked up some temporary contract work here and there. As such I would like to maximize my deductions for being a contractor as well as for full-time job hunting costs. As a result, I think I may need the services of an accountant for my taxes this year.
Can anyone recommend a good accountant with experience working with small businesses/contractors who is rather affordable. I am still unemployed and on a fairly strict budget.
Jean Harris in Cary has been my accountant for 10 years.
She is 1/2 the cost of my previous CPA and finds deductions
for my small business I never knew. Honest, punctual and
affordable.
Glenn Borg, of Balentine & Borg in Durham. We've been very happy with him for simple and complex items, ranging from personal taxes to business taxes for my website to helping with estate matters for a deceased parent. Outstanding to work with, conscientious, communicates well; very familiar with small business and contractor rules.

Hi -- do you have Jean Harris's contact information? I can find her phone number online, but does she also have an email address?
Thanks!
