Has anyone tried David's Dumpling and Noodle Bar? I see they have some vegetarian options. Anyone know about how vegan-friendly those options are?
And how about Poole's Diner? We went there once with friends, and what we got was basically a veggie plate. Was this an off night, or is that the best vegans get there?
We tried David's and I was not impressed at all. The service was not that great and the food was just okay, nothing special. We would likely not be going back.
Sad to hear about David's. I only went there once years ago and thought it was pretty good. But since they don't have weekend lunch hours that pretty much kills any chance of me going back there.
I'm going to have to disagree on David's. I haven't been there extensively and tried everything on the menu but there are some stellar things on there, particularly on the noodle/bar menu. I was a little skeptical at first because typically an Asian fusion type of places don't do any one thing particularly well but the noodles, particularly the noodle soups are great! Unfortunately, most of those probably have a chicken or pork stock so are not vegan/veggie friendly whereas other dishes can be made with tofu or shrimp to make it more vegetarian-friendly.
Eva - David's opens at noon on Sunday! Go for the noodle bar. They also have the BEST hot and sour soup, which I love and have found to find a really good bowl of here. Good balance of hot and sour with good flavor and not that dark brown overy soy-sauced soup!
Oh good to know. About a year ago they only did dinner hours on weekends.
